Students dance at Latin Night

EMU students celebrate Latin Night

The week of Sept. 30 to Oct. 5 was this year’s LSA Week, a week-long celebration put on by the Latinx Student Association (LSA) to engage EMU’s students and to hopefully recruit new members along the way. The annual Latin Night celebration took place at the McKenny Ballroom on Thursday night. Latin Night was put on by the LSA and sponsored by the Center of Race & Ethnicity.

B&F Committee alleviates worries of overspending

The Business and Finance Committee reduces amount of money allocated since previous meeting

The Business and Finance Committee allocated money to the International Student Association, The United Nation Association, Optimize Eastern, women’s club softball and women’s club ultimate frisbee on Tuesday, Oct. 1. The senators allocated less than half of the amount they did at the previous committee meeting, alleviated some of the stress of overspending the budget.







L.A.M.E.

Laugh-A-Minute-Enterprises and Campus Life Host Comedy Night

On the evening of Sept. 26, students filled the Student Center Auditorium to enjoy a free comedy show hosted by Laugh-A-Minute-Enterprises and Campus Life. At the event, L.A.M.E. members showed off their comedic talent through performances such as improv games and ad-lib hilarity. 


Ypsi Writes

YpsiWrites establishes new writing centers for Ypsilanti community

YpsiWrites will place writing centers a locations of the Ypsilanti District Library (YDL) to extend the writing support available at EMU into the Ypsilanti community.  YpsiWrites is a collaberation between the Office of Campus & Community Writing at EMU YDL, 826 Michigan, and Washtenaw Literacy.

Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi announced Tuesday, Sept. 24 that the House would initiate a formal impeachment inquiry against President Trump. EMU Political Science Professors Edward Sidlow and Jeffery Bernstein discuss the likelihood of Trump being impeached and what the next steps are.
