EMU Baseball Swept by Marshall

The Eastern Michigan baseball team was swept by Marshall in a four-game series in Huntington, W. Va. The Eagles jumped out to an early lead in multiple games, but Marshall would come back and win. Eastern also suffered the worst loss in two years, a 25-3 loss in game three of the series.

EMU Men’s Basketball Loses Final Regular Season Game

 Eastern Michigan fails to pick up a win in its final regular season game. After a strong start on defense, Toledo proceeded to pick apart EMU from the 3-point line enroute to a win. As a result, Eastern will play Ball State in the first round of the MAC Tournament against Ball State.

EMU Men’s Hoops MAC Tournament Preview

 Previewing the Eagles’ first-round game against Ball State on March 11 at the Convocation Center. Eastern Michigan and Ball State have already played twice this year and the Eagles have won both occasions. It has been 21 years since the Eagles last won the MAC Tournament.

EMU Women’s Basketball Wins Final Regular Season

The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team fought back from a 13-point deficit in the first quarter to win by 10 in the final regular season game of the year. Jenna Annecchiarico led all scorers with 19 points and six assists. The Eagles will stay on the road to play Akron in the first round of the MAC Tournament.

EMU Women’s Basketball Advances on Minott’s Last-Second Shot

 Danielle Minott scored the winning layup for Eastern Michigan with 2.6 seconds left in the fourth quarter, leading to a 61-59 victory over Akron at James A. Rhodes Arena on Monday, March 11. The Eagles move on to the quarterfinals round of the MAC Tournament to play Central Michigan in Cleveland on March 13 at noon.

EMU Men’s Basketball Beats Ball State on Senior Night

The EMU men’s basketball team earned their 15th victory of the season by defeating Ball State at the Convocation Center on Senior Night. The four seniors combined for 52 points in the 68-61 win. James Thompson IV led the way, scoring 20 points and grabbing 23 rebounds. He also broke the school’s 47-year-old career rebounding record. Paul Jackson and Elijah Minnie also contributed, combining for 30 points.

EMU Women’s Basketball Loses In Double OT on Senior Night

The Eastern Michigan women’s basketball team lost to the Toledo Rockets in double overtime at the Convocation Center on Senior Night. EMU is now 12-16 on the year as they prepare for their final regular season game versus Ball State. Jenna Annecchiarico had a team-high 19 points in the loss against Toledo. Corrione Cardwell added 14 points and six rebounds.

Schedule Released For EMU Football

The 2019-20 football schedule has been released, and it includes five home games for Eastern Michigan. The season will kick off on the road against Coastal Carolina on Aug. 31. Eastern Michigan will also travel to Illinois and Kentucky, before beginning MAC play on Oct. 5 against rival Central Michigan.

EMU Baseball Lost in the Fog

Eastern Michigan Baseball completed a three-game series against Texas A&M Corpus Christi in Corpus Christi, Texas from March 1-3. The Eagles were swept in the series by the Islanders.

EMU Baseball: Weekend Recap

The Eastern Michigan baseball team lost three games and won one in the 2019 Alamo Irish Classic. Their victory was over Notre Dame on Feb. 22. The Eagles lost both games in their doubleheader on Feb. 21.

Eastern Michigan men’s track and field finished in second place with 153.5 points in the final day of the Mid-American Conference Indoor Championships in Kent, Ohio.

EMU Men’s Basketball Falls to Central Michigan

Paul Jackson had 19 points along with five assists and four steals for EMU (13-15, 7-8 MAC). James Thompson IV notched a double-double with 12 points and 12 rebounds. Elijah Minnie had 11, despite not being in the starting five like usual. Kevin McKay had the game-high in points at 23 and grabbed 10 rebounds for Central (20-8, 9-6). David DiLeo scored 18 and went 5-of-9 shooting from the 3-point range.
