Meet Preview: EMU Gymnastics vs. Kent State

Coming off of a win over the defending Mid-American Champions, Central Michigan University Chippewas, in the Michigan/Illinois Challenge. The Eastern Michigan gymnastics team (6-1) returns home Saturday to take on the Kent State Flashes (2-3). The Eagles look to remain unbeaten at home. The meet is scheduled for 4pm.

With a little over a week until the 2015 Eastern Michigan baseball season gets underway in Tucson, AZ, new Head Baseball Coach Mark Van Ameyde has been figuring out what ways to bring success to the program after a dismal 19-34 season (6-21 in the Mid-American Conference) in 2014.

Women's track runs past CMU and WMU

The Eastern Michigan University  women's track and field team beat both Central Michigan and Western Michigan Saturday, at a Mid-American Conference tri-meet in Mount Pleasant, Michigan.

The Mid-American Conference announced, Tuesday, Tyler Brown as track athlete of the week and Dace Dreimane as field athlete of the week.

Eagles victorious over Broncos

Mike Talley scored a career-high 24 points to lead the Eastern Michigan men’s basketball team to a 69-63 victory over in-state rival Western Michigan.

Eagles Wipe the Floor With Bobcats 76-40

After two consecutive losses during MAC play, the Eastern Michigan University Eagles came back to the Convocation Center and pulled out a 76-40 blow-out win against the Ohio Bobcats. This is the largest margin of victory the Eagles have achieved since 2004 and the biggest win in a Mid-American Conference tournament since 1997. The Eagles finished the first half with a leading score of 31-16; averaging 44.8 in field goal percentage, 11.1 percent from behind the arc, and 100 percent from the free throw.

Monday night quidditch

Nerd was the word on Monday night as brooms, hoops, and the EMU Flying Squirrels Quidditch Club took over Dick Vitale Court at Calihan Hall during the halftime of U of D Mercy’s mens basketball game against the visiting Wright State Raiders. The Harry Potter based sport was showcased during U of D Mercy’s Nerd Night, a promotion that saw many Titan staffers wear nerdy glasses and concession stands giving away free boxes of Willy Wonka Nerd’s candy.

Jock Jams at EMU

The 14th Annual Jock Jams was held Thursday, Jan. 22 at Pease Auditorium by the Student Athlete Advisory Council. It brings comradery to the sports teams across the board and it was a great event to bring everyone together for some lighthearted fun.

Men's basketball: CMU buries EMU 65-51

The hole that the Eastern Michigan men’s basketball team has dug for themselves grew deeper Saturday, falling to Central Michigan 65-51 to fall to 1-5 in conference play.
