Between long hours spent studying and pressure to meet deadlines, the stress they feel shows up not only in their constantly irritated demeanor, but also on their skin. Dark circles under the eyes, tired complexions and pimples are less than ideal for anyone’s debut into college life.

As we all know, being a college student isn’t the cheapest thing in the world. Between juggling hectic work and school schedules while fitting in time for extra activities, eating healthy may be the last thing on anyone’s mind. It may be easier to eat at the café or grab fast food in between classes, but in all the rushing, many skip breakfast or lunch, which leaves them hungrier and craving junk food. Many people think “time consuming” when they hear the words “healthy cooking,” but that’s just not true.

DIY street fair shows off local talent

A DIY Street fair took place in Ferndale last weekend. The festival was an art and vendor event that catered to the local creative talents, allowing them to sell and exhibit their work. The event had many items to offer including jewelry, sculptures and clothing.

Feminist Fest has successful turnout

Eastern Michigan University’s first annual Feminist Fest featured appearances from different local and national organizations and companies involved in women’s interest. Students floated in and out of the Grand Ballroom on the second floor of the Student Center for the first annual Feminist Fest.

"The Last Internationale" releases impressive debut album

A trio named “The Last Internationale” formed in New York in 2008. Six years later, they have produced an impressive debut album, “We Will Reign”. Beginning with the track “Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Indian Blood,” a powerful, upbeat track with drums that come crashing down on you, the album captures your interest from the start.



Eyrie changes location, maintains sense of Depot Town community

Ypsilanti’s historic Depot Town offers many things to the local community with unique shops lining Cross Street. Eyrie has been adding to that community for a little while now and has recently changed locations to 50 East Cross Street while still embodying the fun and quirky personality of the Depot Town Community.

College comes with many expenses. There is money due for tuition, classes, parking passes and most of all the dreaded expensive costs of books. Books are a necessity, but also a nuisance. My freshman year of college the cost for all of my books in the first semester alone was $350.
