Sophomore pitcher poised for strong EMU career
Eagles’ pitcher Jenna Ignowski led the softball team to an 8-0 lead over the University of Detroit Mercy Tuesday in game one of a double header. The Eagles won game two 15-7. Ignowski, a sophomore, pitched six innings, giving up two hits with six strikeouts and three walks.

The Eagles gymnastics team notched its third win of the season on Saturday when they knocked off Air Force, 191.500-188.175.

**The 60th annual NBA All-Star Weekend is set to take place in Los Angles this weekend and should be filled with celebrities, rookies, dunks and skills. The weekend kicks off Friday night with the T-Mobile rookie challenge, a game played between this year’s top rookies and top second-year players. Representing the rookies is Los Angeles Clippers’ Blake Griffin, who is also in the dunk contest and a reserve to the West All-Star Game.

Eagles finish fourth in gymnastics tourney
The Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team placed fourth (188.975) in the annual Redbird Quad Tournament Sunday hosted by second place finisher Illinois State University (192.025). MAC-rival Central Michigan University was also there and placed first (193.375), with University of Chicago-Illinois (189.975) , taking third.
