Julien Baker, most well known as a member of the indie supergroup Boygenius, has teamed up with fellow queer indie musician TORRES for a country album, “Send a Prayer My Way.” This marked both artist’s first foray into country music.
As summer approaches, music fans can get excited about a number of visits to Southeast Michigan by top-chart music artists, including Kendrick Lamar, Post Malone and the Goo Goo Dolls.
The indie pop band Japanese Breakfast recently dropped their fourth studio album “For Melancholy Brunettes (& sad women)” on March 21, 2025. True to its title, the record was a dreamy, indie pop album dealing with melancholia. It was preceded by the singles “Orlando In Love” and “Mega Circuit.”
Five years since her last pop record, Lady Gaga has returned to the dance floor with “Mayhem.” Preceded by the hit singles “Abracadabra,” “Disease,” and “Die With a Smile” with Bruno Mars, “Mayhem” is a synthpop record that bent and played around with genre. It explored themes of love and desire with some monster-related imagery.
On Saturday, Feb. 22, two Eastern Michigan University a cappella groups performed at the International Championship of Collegiate A Cappella. Both Evergreen and Emerald Harmony were at the quarterfinals for the Great Lakes region at Hill Auditorium in Ann Arbor.

Imagine Dragons has finally released their new album "LOOM." Their last album, "Mercury," was released back in 2022. This new album is filled with emotion and heartbreak, Dan Reynolds emphasized on his Instagram. "I found myself lost in a wave of emotions and didn't know how to express them," Reynolds said in his post. He expressed his emotions through music and made an incredible album with his band.
After months of teasing with snake themed singles, Megan Thee Stallion has finally released her serpentine album, “MEGAN.”
Charli xcx has left conventional pop and returned to experimentation with her new album “BRAT.”
