The Eastern Michigan University Physical Plant is renovating the courtyard in King Hall as a result of the Sept. 20 graffiti incident, which included racial slurs spray painted on the west wall.

At 8:58 p.m. an assault was reported to authorities at a location on Huron River Drive. This case was closed on Oct. 16.

EMU's College of Business was ranked one of the nation's best business schools according to a 2017 edition of the Princeton Review's book, "The Best 294 Business Schools."

At 12:35 a.m. Department of Public Safety officials received a call regarding a stolen Microsoft Xbox controller taken from a room inside Best residence hall. The current status of this case is open.

Fish Lake property to remain owned by EMU

Eastern Michigan University President James Smith met with Faculty Senate members on Wednesday, Oct. 12 to discuss the decision to sell EMU Kresge Environmental Center, also known as Fish Lake.

After giving out more than 20,000 pounds of food in its first year of operation, Swoop's Food Pantry has expanded to a larger site in Pierce hall at Eastern Michigan University. Swoop's Pantry, formerly housed in Marshall building, now consists of two rooms and has a waiting room across the hall.

Police Blotter, Oct. 8

At 2:32 a.m. a woman reported that she was sexually assaulted at an off campus residence on North Normal Street. The current status of this case is pending. At 5:59 a.m. a female subject reported that her roommate was intoxicated and in need of medical attention in Village building B. This case was closed on Oct. 2.

EMU Student Government senate meeting, Sept. 20

Eastern Michigan University senators voted on several resolutions ranging from discontent over dining service transparency, two provisional senator nominations, EMU Board of Regents candidate recommendations to Gov. Rick Snyder and student organization delegates. The three hour meeting was held on Tuesday, Sept. 20.
