Student regrets not filing charges

On Oct. 17, Michigan’s football team played Delaware State, which amounted to a sure win for U-M and big payday for Delaware State. Arif Khan, a 19-year-old biology and psychology double major at Eastern Michigan University, worked the south stairwell at Michigan Stadium that day.

Bee ordinance gets first OK from Council

City Council unanimously passed an ordinance on first reading Tuesday allowing Ypsilanti residents to keep bees. The ordinance had been considered by City Council last month, but decided a permit process should be included with the original language and postponed the matter before a vote was taken. If approved on a second reading the ordinance would give residents the opportunity to apply for a permit to keep no more than two bee hives on a parcel of land.

Ypsilanti City Council cuts bus route

Ypsilanti City Council voted to eliminate the Ann Arbor Transportation Authority’s bus route five in the city Tuesday night. The move, along with scaling back hours for two routes and pledging to put bus funding in front of voters, was part of an effort to curb a $123,000 shortfall in the amount the city will be charged for its AATA purchase of service agreement.
