Women's soccer dominates Broncos

Eastern Michigan University’s women’s soccer dominated the Western Michigan Broncos Thursday, Oct. 19 at Scicluna Field. Eastern has seen great success at home this season and Thursday’s match was no different. Goalkeeper Kaylin Williams kept the Broncos off the scoreboard to help the team on their way to a 3-0 victory. Despite the difference in score, EMU still had to fight valiantly to secure their first victory against Western since the 2014 season.

The Eastern Michigan University soccer team saw a postseason victory with a 1-0 win on Senior Day over the Northern Illinois University Huskies Sunday Oct. 22 at Scicluna Field.

Road woes continue to trouble women's soccer

Eastern Michigan’s women’s soccer lost a pair of road matches this week against Toledo and Ball State with final scores 4-1 and 3-0 respectively. The two losses drop Eastern to 5-10-1 overall and 2-5 in the conference. Eastern has yet to pull off a victory away from home since an early season matchup against the University of Illinois at Chicago. Since, Eastern has lost seven straight games on the road.

Eastern Michigan University women's soccer defeats Oakland in overtime

Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer headed into Scicluna Field, Sunday, Sept. 10, for a matchup against the Oakland University Grizzlies, The Eagles snagged a goal in the first overtime period to secure a 1-0 victory. This win pushed the Eagles to a 2-0-1 record at home and a 3-3-1 record altogether for the season.

Eastern Michigan University’s women’s soccer team close Homecoming weekend with two straight victories in Mid-American Conference play. The Eagles scored two goals in the first half against the Falcons of Bowling Green State University while taking a total of 16 shots.






McCabe or Williams: Who will start?

The Eastern Michigan University women's soccer team has used over 10 different starting line-ups in 15 matches played during the 2015 season. So the question going into the end of the season not only becomes what starting 10 outfield players head coach Scott Hall puts on the field, but also, who Hall selects to play goalkeeper as the last defense for the Eagles.

'We need points,' Eagles take loss in Toledo

The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team traveled to the University of Toledo on Sunday afternoon and took a disappointing 1-0 loss to the Rockets, putting the Eagles in a bind as the post-season approaches. Eagles (4-8-2, 1-4-1 MAC) goalkeeper Megan McCabe took the loss despite making five saves in her second start back from injury, while the Eagles mustered only three shots on goal.


Eagles head to double-overtime, draw Central Michigan 0-0

The Eastern Michigan University soccer team traveled to Mount Pleasant Friday evening, and played the Central Michigan University Chippewas to a 0-0 draw after the game went to double overtime. It was a tight game on a cold, windy night in Mount Pleasant that saw plenty of scoring chances for both the Eagles (4-7-2; 1-3-1 MAC) and the Chippewas (3-7-2; 2-2-1 MAC). But after 110 minutes the game ended just as it began and no team came out ahead to take an important three points in the Mid-American Conference standings.

Late goal leads Eastern Michigan to 3-2 victory over Akron

Junior Ellie Tillar scored a beautiful headed goal late in the game to send the Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team past the University of Akron by a score of 3-2 on Sunday afternoon in Ypsilanti. Using its ninth different starting lineup in 12 games, Eastern Michigan (4-7-1; 1-3-0 MAC) scored three goals, two of which being put in the goal off of set pieces to try and catch momentum and beat the Akron.

Eagles shut out at home by Buffalo

The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team took a hard defeat on Friday afternoon when the University of Buffalo came to town and defeated the Eagles 1-0 on a cold, windy day at Scicluna Field.

The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team hosted the University of Miami-Ohio Redhawks in a Mid-American Conference match-up on Sunday, in which the Eagles fell 1-0 to a set-piece goal in the team’s second game at Scicluna Field.

Eagles downed by late Titans goal

The Eastern Michigan University women’s soccer team was defeated 1-0 by the University of Detroit-Mercy on Thursday afternoon, after a goal was scored in the 89th minute by the Titans. The Eagles (2-4-1) were incapable of capitalizing on multiple scoring chances throughout the game, which allowed the Titans (3-4) to keep the game level until the closing seconds of the match where they took advantage of a free kick to hand the Eagles their fourth loss of the season.
