EMU alumnus Pat O'Connor debuted for the Detroit Lions in their 31-29 victory over the Minnesota Vikings, stepping up from the practice squad to fill in for injured defensive starters. O'Connor, who previously earned First Team All-MAC honors at Eastern Michigan, contributed two assisted tackles in his first-ever game with the Lions.

While the Eastern Michigan University soccer team struck first via a goal from redshirt sophomore Sophia Baumann towards the end of the first half, Northern Illinois responded with two second half goals of their own and held on to claim victory over the Eagles, 2-1.

GameAbove golf performance center: a new era for EMU golf

EMU has officially opened the GameAbove Golf Performance Center at Eagle Crest Golf Course, enhancing its men’s and women’s golf programs. Launched on Jan.16, 2024, the 13,000-square-foot facility features advanced training amenities funded by an $8 million gift from the GameAbove alum group. This center positions EMU as a leader in collegiate golf. It symbolizes a commitment to the university and the Ypsilanti community, with plans to generate revenue through community events and elevate student-athlete performance.
