Anthony Davis made major news on Jan. 28 when he requested a trade to “a team that allows him the chance to win consistently and compete for a championship.” Teams lined up to court New Orleans before the trade deadline, but to no avail. This means that this summer will be all about Davis. Here are some likely spots for Davis to land.

Eastern Michigan Baseball Loses Another Heartbreaker

The Eastern Michigan University baseball team lost both games in a doubleheader against New Jersey Institute of Technology in Hoover, Alabama on Feb. 16. In the first outing, the Eagles lost 10-4 and then fell 10-9 in extra innings in the second game.

Ypsilanti High School faced Lincoln High School in girls and boys varsity basketball on Friday, Feb. 15 at the Convocation Center. The Ypsilanti girls won 42-26, while the Lincoln boys slipped away with a 67-66 victory.

Eastern Michigan University gymnastics overcame an early deficit to beat Mid-American Conference rival the Western Michigan Broncos 194.850-193.725 on Feb. 9 in the Convocation Center.

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team won a back-and-forth game against Northern Illinois University, 57-49, at the Convocation Center on Feb. 9. The Eagles are now 10-13 (4-6).

 The Eastern Michigan University women’s swim and dive team finished its dual meet season with a win over Albion College on Feb. 1. The win ensured that the team would finish with an undefeated record in dual meets for the season, going 8-0.

The Eastern Michigan University swimming and diving team had an all-around impressive performance in route to 152-74 over Division III school Albion College Friday night at Jones Natatorium.

EMU Women’s Basketball Loses Late to Northern Illinois

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team lost to Northern Illinois University, 68-65 in overtime, at the Convocation Center on Feb. 2, to fall to 10-9 on the year. Redshirt senior Danielle Minott had a team-high of 22 points in the loss.
