I give up. I’m selling out. I mean, every week I labor over this column and try to write poignant, thought-provoking, interesting columns about serious relationship issues that affect everyone, but what do you guys like the best? Sex. The best response I’ve gotten since I started writing for The Echo was my column about one-night stands and the Walk of Shame.

Hungry for a new adventure: Try these vegetarian recipes

In a few days I will celebrate my two-month anniversary of being vegetarian. Already I’ve had my ups and downs, but all in all I’m glad I made the decision to go veg. In the past two months I’ve figured out how to get enough protein into my diet, sneak veggies into meals and even where to shop. But the end result is the recipes I’ve found which have become the delicious healthy meals I now love.

Flaming Lips get back on track with 'Embryonic'

Over their three-decade career, The Flaming Lips have reinvented themselves several times, but for the last decade they have been making more or less the same kind of melodic, catchy power-pop they perfected on their landmark 1999 album “The Soft Bulletin.”   After 2006’s ho-hum “At War with the Mystics,” it seemed as if the band was threatening to reach that plateau in their career where they churn out the same handful of formulaic songs on every album.

Students to celebrate National Day on Writing

The National Day on Writing kicks off at 9 a.m. in the Student Center Ballroom and will feature a variety of writing-themed events, discussions and free food. The event will reflect the multitude of styles and types of writing students participate in, from academic essays and projects to creative writing and even text messages, blogs and e-mails.
