Eagles soar back in second half; EMU football defeats UMass 20-13 for homecoming win

The Eastern Michigan University football team completed a 13-point comeback and won their homecoming matchup against the University of Massachusetts, 20-13, on Saturday, October 1, 2022. The Eagles’ come-from-behind win over the Minutemen was also the first time the team has won its homecoming in consecutive years since 2006 and 2007.

The Eastern Michigan football team traveled to Tempe, Arizona to take on Arizona State University on Saturday, September 17, 2022, in a late-night valley showdown. Evans was the story of the night for the Eagles as he capped off a career night after rushing for 258 yards on 36 attempts, leading the Eagles past Arizona State, 30-21.

The Eastern Michigan University womens’ volleyball team competed in the DePaul Invitational on Friday, September 9, 2022, and Saturday, September 10, 2022. On Friday, the Eagles faced off against Virginia Tech University, and Saint Louis University, as they dropped both matches in five sets, with both finishing in a 3-2 loss, while on Saturday they faced off against tournament host DePaul University where they fell to the Blue Demons, 3-1.

Football and basketball recruits strengthen EMU athletics

On August 1, 2022, three-star cornerback Daiquan White announced his commitment to the Eastern Michigan University football program. White’s commitment boosted the Eagles into the number one spot in the 2023 recruiting class rankings (247sports.com). This marked the first time in program history that Eastern Michigan held the number one spot in the football recruiting class rankings within the Mid-American Conference.
