Trap Karaoke

Trap Karaoke displays culture and history

Oct. 8, 2019 in EMU’s Student Center Ballroom, The Nation organized and put on EMU’s own Trap Karaoke event. The Ballroom was full of energy and self-expression as a community through singing, rap and dance.

Zeta Sigma Chi hosts Beat the DJ

On Thursday, October 18, Campus Life and Zeta Sigma Chi Multicultural Society co-hosted an event called “Beat the DJ” in Student Center room 310AB. Team “We Here to Win” took the ultimate victory with a total of 4138 points, becoming the inaugural winners of Beat the DJ.

Created Equal takes a stand on EMU campus

The organization Created Equal displayed graphic images of abortion on campus on Oct. 9. The organization stages a protest on abortion every year on the south side of campus next to Porter and King Hall. Student Government provided students with information on how to avoid the area if they did not want to see the display. 


L.A.M.E.

Laugh-A-Minute-Enterprises and Campus Life Host Comedy Night

On the evening of Sept. 26, students filled the Student Center Auditorium to enjoy a free comedy show hosted by Laugh-A-Minute-Enterprises and Campus Life. At the event, L.A.M.E. members showed off their comedic talent through performances such as improv games and ad-lib hilarity. 


MAP students

MAP provides students the opportunity to address issues of minority participation

Through the MAP organization, students can share ideas on topics related to minorities and philosophy, meet and support peers and learn from philosophy departments. MAP’s first meeting is on Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 5 p.m. in the History and Philosophy lounge. If interested, please contact Borges at sarellan@emich.edu to let him know you will be attending. 



EagleFest 2019

Eastern Michigan University hosts second annual EagleFest

On Sept. 9, students gathered at the Student Center patio and University Park to learn about different student organizations offered at EMU. EagleFest allows students to not only learn about clubs and sports provided at EMU, but to also meet others interested in the same topics.


RHA Kick Off Event 2019

Residence Housing Association hosts kick-off

Students had the opportunity to learn more about EMU’s Residence Hall Association as an organization at the Pray-Harrold Kick-off. While there, students had the chance to play games, win prizes and join RHA as Community Representatives.

According to MayoClinic, hypnosis, also known as hypnotherapy or hypnotic suggestion, is a trance-like state in which you have heightened focus and concentration. Wednesday, April 10 in the student center auditorium the comedic hypnotist Dan Lornitis came to Eastern Michigan University (EMU) to share some knowledge and laughs to the students at EMU.

Director of Dining Services Meets with Student Senate

A conversation between Chris Yeadon, who is the director of dining services, and the Student Senate about dining on campus. Focusing on more options for religious and vegetarian/vegan diners as well as changes that they have made to places like the Crossroads Marketplace and the Eastern Eateries.

EMU Hosts Pride Prom 2019

Summary on the LGBT Pride Prom event taken place at the convocation center at 7pm - 11pm. Open to the EMU and free to the public/community.
