Track and field: Season finale in Lexington

Eastern Michigan University's track and field program concluded its 2026 outdoor season following a series of competitive performances at the NCAA East Preliminary Round in Lexington, Kentucky. Nine Eagles represented the university, achieving several marks that now rank among the top ten in program history across both track and field disciplines.

A legacy continued: Eastern Michigan track and field claims 11 All-MAC honors

Following a series of dominant performances at the conference championships, eleven Eastern Michigan University student-athletes have been recognized with 2026 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Outdoor Track & Field All-MAC honors. These prestigious selections, which include seven first-team and four second-team accolades, highlight the program's depth as the Eagles prepare for the upcoming NCAA East Prelims in Lexington.

EMU Men Secure Runner-Up Finish as Women Surge to Fifth at MAC Outdoor Championships

The Eastern Michigan University track and field teams concluded the 2026 MAC Outdoor Championships with three individual/relay titles and a total of 148.5 points for the men and 75 points for the women. The men’s team secured a runner-up finish while the women’s squad surged to fifth place, highlighted by a sweep of the women's relay events and a school record in the decathlon 1500m.

Eastern Michigan University standouts Michael Hawkins and Gabe Oliveira have been named the Mid-American Conference Men’s Track and Field Athletes of the Week following dominant performances at the Hillsdale Last Chance meet and the Len Paddock Open. These honors represent the first time the Eagles have secured multiple conference awards in the same week during the outdoor season, signaling a powerful surge of momentum heading into the MAC Outdoor Championships.

Eagles take flight in Mount Pleasant: EMU men secure third, women take eighth at MAC Indoor Championships

The Eastern Michigan University track and field programs concluded the 2026 Mid-American Conference (MAC) Indoor Championships with a series of standout individual performances and podium finishes. Hosted by Central Michigan University at the Jack Skoog Track on Feb. 27-28, the meet saw the EMU men’s team secure a third-place finish with 98 points, while the women’s team placed eighth with 40 points. The weekend was highlighted by a double-gold performance from Kian Wiles, individual titles from Mariah Taylor and Gabe Oliveira, and the crowning of Sam Vesperman as the MAC Co-Indoor Men’s Freshman Performer of the Year.

Powered by dominant field event performances and multiple podium finishes across both rosters, the Eagles continue to build momentum as they head into a pivotal split-meet weekend.

Wiles breaks sub-four-minute barrier in historic track and field weekend

Meet the five men and women who have been selected via the Eastern Michigan E-Club Alumni Chapter, the official varsity athletic letterwinners club, as the latest inductees into the school’s Hall of Fame. All are set to be honored during the Hall of Fame ceremony on Oct. 10, 2025, in the George Gervin GameAbove Center.

Eastern Michigan track & field sends eight to NCAA East First Round Meet

Five men and three women in the Eastern Michigan track and field program will fly the flag for the green and white in Jacksonville, Florida, later this week. Gabe Singh, Brendan Hill, Lucky Fiaku, Jake McEachern and Kian Wiles headline the men’s Eagles that will compete in the NCAA East Prelims that begin the morning of May 28, while Micah Martin, Saraiah Walkes and Isabella Brent will lead the women into competition beginning May 29.
