Eastern Michigan University opens registration for their Explore Eastern Open House on Oct. 8.The Explore Eastern Open House is an event hosted to introduce prospective students to the university. The event features presentations from the deans of each college at EMU and an academic resource fair to display what the university offers. This lively event is held in the university's Student Center, allowing visitors to see the core of campus and observe the students going about their day.Potential students can interact with other interested students, establish connections and make new friends before they even register. This also tends to be a common event for students to meet others looking to find roommates. Moreover, students can meet with professors personally to ask any questions they may have and understand how classes are typically structured.

“Honestly, my classes exhaust me of my energy,” said Eastern Michigan University music student Dasia Zientek. Zientek is enrolled in 12 credits, the minimum for a full-time student, with nine classes. In addition, Zientek is the secretary to an alternative to the academic choir found at EMU: Evergreen.
