With a loss to Ball State University, Eastern Michigan University's hopes of playing in the second round of the Mid-American Conference tournament have been dashed. A three hour and 17 minute weather delay zapped away any momentum that Eastern Michigan had built up, and Ball State pounced on the opportunity, scoring three unanswered runs of their own over the next three innings to hold on and knock off the Eagles 6-5.
While Eastern Michigan may have lost on the scoreboard, their season will not be coming to an end just yet. Courtesy of a Toledo victory over Central Michigan, the Eagles have secured the sixth and final spot in the season-ending Mid-American Conference Tournament, their first postseason berth since 2018.
Cooper Vance’s walk-off two-run homer completed the Eagles’ astonishing five run comeback in extra innings, securing a 12-11 victory for the home team over Kent State and putting Eastern Michigan in the sixth and final conference tournament spot with just two games remaining.
With a critical conference series against Kent State looming large in just a couple days, the Eagles did their best not to look ahead and put up a valiant effort against the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. Despite a furious late rally down the stretch, EMU fell short to Notre Dame 12-10.
With the final bid in the season-ending Mid-American Conference tournament hanging in the balance, Eastern Michigan’s baseball team made a pivotal road trip to Mount Pleasant to face off against Central Michigan University, one of their direct competitors for the final spot.Although they entered the weekend holding the edge over the Chippewas in the standings, the Eagles proceeded to lose two of three games to their fellow in-state foe by a combined three runs and slip into a three-way tie for the final spot in the bracket.
It was a tale of two games on Saturday for the Eastern Michigan baseball team. Fresh off a loss in the opening game of the series against Northern Illinois on Friday, the Eagles bounced back in a big way in the first game of the day with a 13-3 victory, ending the game in the eighth inning thanks to college baseball’s 10 run rule. However, the nightcap was all Northern Illinois. The Huskies destroyed the home team with a 17-1 win and left Oestrike Stadium with a series victory to boot.
Eagles get swept for third time this season.
The only thing warmer than the weather at Oestrike Stadium was the offense of the Eastern Michigan baseball team. Scoring all of their runs in the opening four innings, the Eagles made quick work of Youngstown State by dispatching the Penguins in a dominant 14-4 victory to return to the win column for the second straight game.

The Eagles lost a 6-2 decision at Oestrike Stadium to lose their second straight Sunday afternoon matinee. They fell to 14-17 (9-9 MAC) on the campaign, while Toledo improved to 13-21 (7-11 MAC) with the win.
After losing the opening two games of the series to Ball State in Friday’s doubleheader, Eastern Michigan’s baseball team looked poised to end the weekend on a high note and get back into the win column in the Sunday matinee at Oestrike Stadium. Then, the ninth inning happened.
Last week, Eastern Michigan went into Ann Arbor and knocked off Michigan in a come from behind thriller. Things did not go as well for the Eagles in the rematch, with the home team falling 13-2 to the Wolverines on a chilly day at Oestrike Stadium.

Eastern Michigan baseball stunned the University of Michigan with a 9-8 victory in Ann Arbor, snapping an eight-game road losing streak and earning its first Power Four road win since 2018.

The senior outfielder from Essexville, Michigan turned in one of the performances of the campaign in front of the Ypsilanti faithful on Saturday afternoon; falling just a triple short of completing the cycle while adding two home runs and six RBI’s to the statsheet in Eastern Michigan’s dominant victory over Miami, 19-12.
