Despite significant offensive contributions from John Hale and Devan Zirwas, the Eagles' pitching staff struggled to contain the Rockets, culminating in a season-high 23 runs allowed in the series finale.

On Tuesday, March 24, 2026, the Eastern Michigan University baseball team staged a dramatic five-run comeback to defeat Youngstown State University 8-7 in a walk-off thriller at Oestrike Stadium. Behind a career-high four RBIs from Demir Heidelberg and a game-winning bases-loaded walk by Tristan Crane, the Eagles secured their third consecutive victory and the first nonconference home win under interim head coach Trevor Beerman.

Following a disappointing series opener, the Eagles rallied for a dramatic 10-inning walk-off win and a commanding Sunday finale to mark a significant milestone in the Interim Head Coach Trevor Beerman era.

Eagles fall to Ball State in three-game series

The Eastern Michigan University baseball team was swept in a three-game series by the Ball State Cardinals between March 13–15, 2026, despite recording high hit totals and multiple home runs throughout the weekend,. While the Eagles were unable to secure a victory, the series was highlighted by career milestones for Nick Weaver, who recorded his first multi-home-run game, and Devan Zirwas, who surpassed 100 career hits.

Despite significant individual milestones and a record-breaking strikeout performance from the pitching staff, the Eagles suffered a series sweep on the road and fell to 0-3 in conference play.

Notre Dame overpowers Eastern Michigan in 11-1 midweek victory

On Tuesday, March 3, 2026, the Eastern Michigan University baseball team traveled to South Bend, Indiana, for a non-conference matchup against the University of Notre Dame. Although the Eagles managed to secure an early 1-0 lead in the third inning, they were unable to withstand a dominant offensive surge from the Fighting Irish. Notre Dame responded with seven runs in the bottom of the third and continued to add insurance runs throughout the game, resulting in an 11-1 victory for the home team in eight innings. Despite the loss, several Eastern Michigan players reached significant personal milestones and extended impressive hitting streaks.

The Eastern Michigan University baseball team earned a 2-2 series split against the Southern Illinois University Edwardsville Cougars at Simmons Baseball Complex. The Eagles showed explosive offense and improved pitching throughout the weekend. Behind multiple home runs, dominant starting performances, and key bullpen efforts, the Eagles moved to 4-8 on the season and gained momentum heading into their matchup with University of Notre Dame.

The Eastern Michigan University baseball team battled through a dramatic three-game road series against Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, Tennessee, highlighted by Ty Stecko’s multi-homer performance in a thrilling 7-6 comeback win Feb. 20, 2026, and an 11-inning heartbreaker the next day. Despite dropping the series 1-2, the Eagles showed resilience, bullpen growth, and emerging offensive firepower that signals strong potential for the 2026 squad.

Despite the losses, several Eagles recorded their first collegiate hits and RBIs, while Carter White delivered a record-setting relief performance that highlighted individual growth amid tough competition.

Eastern Michigan baseball opens 2026 season with 6-1 loss at Little Rock

The Eastern Michigan University baseball team opened the 2026 season with a 6-1 road loss to the Little Rock Trojans at Gary Hogan Field, despite taking an early 1-0 lead in the first inning. Little Rock responded with four runs in the bottom half and never relinquished control, spoiling the head coaching debut of interim head coach Trevor Beerman as Eastern Michigan fell to 0-1 on the year.

Eagles fall short in offensive battle against Bowling Green

Eastern Michigan men’s basketball showed offensive efficiency and resilience but fell 85–79 on the road to Bowling Green, despite two 22-point performances and a strong second-half push. The Falcons’ blistering three-point shooting, particularly in the first half, proved decisive as the loss dropped the Eagles to 9–10 overall and 3–4 in MAC play.
