EMU mens’ basketball drops weekend matchup to Akron

The Eastern Michigan University mens' basketball team (9-18, 4-12 Mid-American Conference), took on the University of Akron (17-9, 10-6 Mid-American Conference), which resulted in a 67-48 loss for the Eagles. EMU freshman Noah Farrakhan led the Eagles with 21 points. His performance put him at fourth all-time in freshman scoring in EMU mens’ basketball history, passing former EMU guard, Darryl Garrett. 

Eastern Michigan University mens' basketball outlast conference rival Central Michigan Chippewas, 75-70

 Tuesday's matchup between the Eagles and Chippewas marked the 50th meeting since 1999. The win over the Chippewas extends the Eagles' lead in the series to 30-20. The Eagles' dominated over the Chippewas, leading since the start of the game. By the end of the first half, the Eagles pushed the lead to 43-30. 

EMU Mens' Basketball falls to Ohio University, 81- 68

The Eastern Michigan mens’ basketball team (8-13, 3-7 MAC) took on Ohio University (18-3, 9-1 MAC) in Athens, Ohio. The Eagles fell to the Bobcats, 81-68. Senior Nate Scott led the Eagles as he scored 16 points while shooting above 50-40-90. 

Noah Farrakhan enters the Top Ten All Time freshman scoring list for EMU

On Feb. 1, the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team fell short to the University of Toledo 86-66.  The third annual “glow night” took place during the Eagles vs. Rockets matchup.  Four EMU players scored in double figures.

Eastern Michigan Eagles soar above Miami RedHawks, 85-75

Eastern Michigan University men's basketball team (8-11, 3-5 Mid-American Conference) hosted Miami University (9-10, 3-5 Mid-American Conference) inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center on Saturday, Jan. 29. The first meeting of the season between the Eagles and RedHawks resulted in a 85-75 victory for the Eagles, snapping EMU's four-game losing streak. 

EMU Men's Basketball fall to Bowling Green in offensive battle 85-71

The Eastern Michigan University mens' basketball team (7-11, 2-5 MAC), took on Bowling Green State University (11-9, 4-5 MAC), which resulted in an 85-71 loss for the Eagles. Freshman Colin Golson Jr. led the team in scoring, putting up 16 points. Junior Bryce McBride added on 15 points. The Eagles look to bounce back at home on Saturday, Jan. 29, against Miami University. 

Eastern Michigan men's basketball falls short to Kent State 56-47

EMU Men’s basketball were clipped by Kent State 56-47. Bryce McBride didn’t let up, scoring 20 points off the bench.

Eastern Michigan Eagles outscored 77-70 at Northern Illinois

Men’s basketball came up short against NIU leading to a loss on the road. Back for more gameplay at home, the Eagles look to recover against Kent State on Jan. 18.

The Eagles men’s basketball team played an outstanding game Tuesday night, winning 99-68 against Central Michigan. Eastern had five players score in double figures.

Eastern Michigan University Honors former student and NBA athlete, George Gervin, by announcing that the Convocation Center will now be named the “George Gervin Game Above Center”.

Game Above hosts George Gervin Day and honors him during a halftime ceremony announcing the name change of the Convocation Center to the George Gervin Game Above Center. EMU defeats FIU 92-88 in quadruple overtime. 

Eastern Michigan men’s basketball defeats Niagara in nail-biter

Last Wednesday night the Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team (4-5, 0-0 MAC) battled Niagara University (3-6, 0-2 MAAC) inside the Convocation Center, which resulted in a 60-58 win for the Eagles. The Eagles have now earned four wins on the season under first-year Head Coach Stan Heath 

Eastern Michigan men’s basketball lose 83-74 to UC San Diego in West Coast Battle

Eastern Michigan Men’s basketball team traveled to San Diego to play UC San Diego which resulted in a 83-74 loss for the Eagles. Colin Golson Jr., Monty Scott, and Bryce McBride finished with 16 points each. 

Eastern Michigan Men’s Basketball defeat Western Illinois 72-68 after high-scoring second half

The Eagles garnered another home win under first-year Head Coach Stan Heath at the Convocation Center against the Western Illinois Leathernecks on Wednesday, Nov. 24. Monty Scott and Noah Farrakhan led the Eagles scoring efforts in a high-scoring second half. The Eagles defeated the Leathernecks 72-68.

Eastern Michigan men's basketball falls 74-73 to Northern Kentucky in final seconds

The Eastern Michigan Eagles record falls to 1-2 after a heartbreaker loss to Northern Kentucky, 74-73. Strong scoring efforts from Noah Farrakhan and Monty Scott were not enough to maintain a lead against the Norse.

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (1-1, 0-0 MAC) erased a 16-point deficit in 103-98 double overtime victory. Monty Scott and Bryce McBride led the scoring efforts in the Eagles first home victory under Head Coach Stan Heath.
