Yvan Lopes Ribeiro takes home triple jump and long jump crowns at UCF Black & Gold Invite

Yvan Lopes Ribeiro (Nice, France) racked up two event championships in the long jump as well as the triple jump when the Eastern Michigan University track and field took to the sunshine state for the 2023 UCF Black and Gold Invite on March 17-18.

EMU gymnastics sees slim victory over Bowling Green State in regular season finale

In their regular-season finale, the Eastern Michigan University gymnastics team hosted Bowling Green State University inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center on Sunday, March 12. With a season-best and final score of 195.800 overall, the Eagles just edged over the Falcons’ 195.250 points.

EMU women's basketball soars over the Chippewas, 68-54

The Eastern Michigan University women’s basketball team (12-9, 4-6 MAC) put on a show in McGuirk Arena on Saturday, Feb. 4, visiting their in-state Mid-American Conference rivals, the Central Michigan University Chippewas (4-17, 2-8 MAC). The Eagles’ sophomore class put up a combined 56 points in the win, 68-54, to earn the squad a crucial MAC win.

3 Eagles earn double-digit points in men's basketball game against Kent State

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team (4-14, 1-4 MAC) played host to the Kent State Golden Flashes (15-3, 5-0 MAC) on Tuesday, Jan. 17 for the teams’ first meeting of the season. Despite three Eagles earning double-digit points, the team fell 63-77 inside the George Gervin GameAbove Center.

Women's basketball drops third in a row at Buffalo, 59-78

After falling to visiting Akron University Zips, 43-60, on Wednesday, January 11, the Eastern Michigan University women's basketball team (9-6, 1-3 MAC) headed east to play the University of Buffalo Bulls (8-5, 3-1 MAC) on Saturday, January 14, 2023. The Bulls had just come off a narrow road win at Ohio University also on Wednesday, as we get into the thick of Mid-American Conference play. Despite a season-high performance, the Eagles fell short 59-78.

EMU football secures second ever bowl victory over San José State University, 41-27

In a rematch of the 1987 California Bowl, the Eastern Michigan University Eagles (9-4, 5-3 MAC) faced the San José State University Spartans (7-4, 5-3 MWC) at Albertsons Stadium for the 2022 Famous Potato Bowl in Boise, ID. The Eagles are now 2-0 against the Spartans after a trio of turnovers helped lift the team to the program’s second-ever bowl victory, 41-27. Winning much more handily this time, the teams' first meeting resulted in a narrow 30-27 victory for the Eagles in the 1987 California Bowl.

EMU football adds to historic season with 31-24 win at Kent State

The Eastern Michigan University Eagles headed to InfoCision Stadium to face off against the University of Akron Zips on Tuesday, Nov. 8 at 7 p.m. In sophomore quarterback Austin Smith’s fourth start, the Eagles battled under the lights, just miles from the birthplace of competitive football.

EMU volleyball swept in weekend at Western Michigan

Starting play under a breaking fog, the Eastern Michigan University Eagles (5-3, 2-2 MAC) hosted the University of Toledo Rockets (5-3, 3-1 MAC) for a 12 p.m. kickoff. The Rockets visited “The Factory” for their second away game in a row, following a 27-34 loss at the University of Buffalo last weekend.

EMU women's soccer shutout in 0-2 defeat at Northern Illinois University

Coming off a 2-1 road win at Western Michigan University on Sunday, Oct. 14, the Eagles (3-11-3, 2-7-1 MAC) traveled to Northern Illinois University (6-7-4, 3-5-2 MAC) on Thursday, Oct. 20 at 4 p.m. The Eagles ultimately lost 0-2 against a strong Huskies squad.
