In Michigan, the four seasons can all happen in one day. Sometimes the lines can get blurred on what solstice or equinox is happening. That being said, there is a type of music for any season (even if they seem to happen all at once). Spring is no exception to the rule.
Politics in music is like cookies and milk: both are and can be separate entities, but they also go marvelously together. Along with that, politics is a topic that has been hard to avoid nowadays. Everything Everything is here to display that even an album about the gross effects of capitalism can be catchy.
What would the world be if it weren’t for metal? Something rather boring, that’s what. Living in Fiction, a metal cover band, took this as a challenge and took one of the most iconic alternative songs and flipped it on its head.
There is a specific genre that everyone is familiar with in one way or another. ‘Dad rock’ is a term thrown around to characterize the types of songs that someone might hear in their dad’s car on the way to swim practice. Some bands that would fall under this category include Nickelback, Shinedown, and Daughtry. There is no rhyme or reason to what the oddly specific genre is, but what can be agreed upon is how iconic some of these songs are.
Rock music is great, and emo-rock music is even better. However, sometimes it does not fit every mood. Not many people want to headbang or cry while they are sleeping or studying. That is where low-fidelity music comes in, otherwise known as lofi.
Now that Mariah Carey has defrosted and the stockings are hung with care, it is time for those holiday tunes to blare. While not easy to find, there are some undeniably rocking covers of the hit songs that people know and love.
Love can turn into hate quickly when someone is betrayed. In the event of someone cheating on their partner, a lot of the love and respect someone has for another goes out the window. Thankfully, music is good for coping with this trauma. A great example of this is Palaye Royale.
Dimension is a frequently used word when talking about music (i.e., “layering the harmony and melody like that gives the song dimension”). Well, Spiritbox took the term more literally in their new EP The Fear of Fear.

Pop punk legends. There are too many to count on both hands, and there is usually a point where they die out and let their past speak for itself. However, in certain circumstances, the members come back together. It can leave someone wondering something: was the wait worth it?
Love is an overarching theme throughout most music. The phenomenon of love has been covered over and over again, romantic love being in the center of it all. Though, sometimes, a track or a whole LP focuses on a completely different type of love.
It does not hurt to branch out and try new things most of the time. Broadening one's horizons adds character, depth, and dimension.
“Fool me once, shame on you. Fool me twice, shame on me.” That is a saying that many know well. It is hard to put into words how exhausting giving someone way too many chances is. That is until this single came out.
On September 6th, Smashing Pumpkins came to Pine Knob Music Theatre in Clarkston. They were accompanied by Interpol, an NYC indie rock band who is known for songs such as ‘Evil’ and ‘C’mere.’ This is a band that is a household name in the rock scene, but, in asking people, not many people know that much about them.

The phrase “don’t judge a book by its cover” remains a well-known philosophy that people live by. Trophy Eyes completely disregarded this phrase when making this record because everything is exactly how it seems.
People have a tendency to want to blend into their surroundings, to fit in. This is especially true when it comes to relationships, romantic and otherwise. Movements seems to display this feeling well in their new song.
