The Eastern Michigan women’s golf team tied Ball State for fourth place in the MAC Championships this weekend at Purgatory Golf Club in Noblesville, Ind. The men’s team finished in a tie with Nebraska for 10th place out of 13 teams in the Hawkeye Invitational at Finkbine Golf Course in Iowa City. The women’s track team competed in the Bryan Clay Invitational in Azusa, Calif. from April 18-19.

Three Eagles place in top 20 at Shirley Spork Invitational

After a fervent final round of play, the Eastern Michigan University women’s golf team finished with a score of 933, including three Eagles placing inside the top 20 at the inaugural Shirley Spork Invitational this past Monday and Tuesday at the Eagle Crest Golf Club.

Men's golf places eighth in California

Eastern Michigan University’s men’s golf team placed 8-of-11 Tuesday at the Del Walker Intercollegiate Golf Classic in Long Beach, California, Tuesday. The University of California Irvine won the tournament with a total 838 stroke total, followed by Campbell University (847), Sacramento State (851), Long Beach State (851), Denver University (851), University of Denver (851), Wichita State (857), EMU (858), Fresno State (865), University of California Santa Barbara (874), and CSU-Northridge (888). Highlights for the Eagles included Junior Brett White’s round of one-over 71 and senior Michael Blair’s three round career-best stroke total of 215. Eastern Michigan Individual Results: Pl.

Women's golf places second in Florida

The top seeded Eastern Michigan University women’s golf team placed second in Mid-American Conference match play in Lakewood, Florida, Tuesday. The Eagles beat Bowling Green State University in the semi-finals, but lost to fourth seeded Northern Illinois in the semifinals. Match play is different from stroke play in how scores are compiled and how a winner is determined.
