There was a kidnapping attempt at 6:40 p.m., Monday, at the Peninsular Place. Police said they came across a group of men in a stairwell at the complex, interrupting a kidnapping and a robbery in progress.

About 40 students learned about Dia de los Muertos, a traditional Mexican holiday, Tuesday evening in the Best Hall Lounge. The event featured Spanish music and Mexican food and drinks. Students could also get their faces painted and decorate small skulls.

Eastern Michigan University's Nonprofit Leadership Alliance teamed up with Growing Hope for the last open-air farmer's market for the year Saturday morning in Depot Town. Four students helped Growing Hope with activities such as surveys and pumpkin carving.
Campus Life will be showing three movies in honor of Halloween. “Unfriended” will be showing at 8 p.m. Thursday, “The Gallows” will be showing at 8 p.m. Friday and “Sinister 2” will be showing at 8 p.m. Saturday. All three movies will be showing in the Student Center Auditorium.
