EMU men's basketball improves to 8-1

The Eastern Michigan University men’s basketball team traveled to Detroit to defeat the University of Detroit Mercy at Calihan Hall, Saturday, Dec. 7. The Eagles are now at the top of the Mid-American Conference standings with an 8-1 record. Coming off a win against Valparaiso on Tuesday, Dec. 3, the Eagles were looking to push their streak to two straight wins.

The Eagles women's basketball team falls off in second half loss versus Wichita State

The Eagles lost 63-52 to Wichita State at Charles Koch Arena on Saturday, Dec. 8. That is four straight losses for EMU, all against non-conference teams. Aaliyah Stanley had the team-high in points at 20 and went 6-for-9 on 3-pointers for EMU (2-6). Areanna Combs scored 11 with three steals and three rebounds.

Miami wins third MAC football championship game over Central Michigan at Ford Field

The Miami RedHawks (8-5, 6-2) have defeated the Central Michigan Chippewas (8-5, 6-2) in the 2019 MAC Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 7 at Ford Field in Detroit, Mich. The final score was 26-21 In favor of the RedHawks, who were led by Brett Gabbert’s 196 yards. Both teams will be playing in a bowl game beginning on Saturday, Dec. 20.

Eagles bounce back with home win

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (7-1) defeated the Valparaiso Crusaders, 85-79, on Tuesday, Dec. 3 at the Convocation Center. The Eagles were led by Ty Groce’s 23 points, five rebounds and two assists. Noah Morgan added 21 points as well. Javon Freeman had a game-high 28 points and five rebounds for Valparaiso in the loss.

Eastern Michigan football finishes regular season 6-6 after home loss versus Kent State

The Eastern Michigan Eagles fell to the Kent State Golden Flashes 34-26, in the last game of the regular season on Friday, Nov. 29 at Rynearson Stadium. Eastern Michigan senior quarterback Mike Glass III threw for a career-high 386 yards, three touchdowns and two interceptions in the loss.

EMU women’s basketball falls to Wolverines

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-4) women’s basketball team fell to the Michigan Wolverines (5-1) on Wednesday, Nov. 27 at the Convocation Center. EMU got off to a slow start as they shot just 15.4% percent in the first quarter and weren’t able to recover as they fell 57-38. Natalia Pineda led the Eagles with 16 points and two rebounds.

Week 14 Preview: The Eagles host Kent State in regular season finale and Senior Day

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (6-5, 3-4) football team plays their final game of the regular season versus the Kent State Golden Flashes (5-6, 4-3) on Friday, Nov. 29 at Rynearson Stadium. It is Senior Day for the Eagles as they look to win 7+ games for the second year in a row. The game will kick off at noon on ESPN+.

Boubacar Toure discusses his life in Senegal and expectations for his senior year

Eastern Michigan center Boubacar Toure was born in Dakar, Senegal. The fifth-year senior came to the United States around six years ago to play basketball. Toure discussed his upbringing, what he misses most about Senegal, when he first started playing basketball and his optimism for the Eagles 2019-20 season.

Stanley leads EMU to second home victory

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-2) women’s basketball team earned their second win of the season as they moved to 2-0 at the Convocation Center this year. The Eagles defeated Southeast Missouri State, 69-64, on Tuesday, Nov. 19 in Ypsilanti. EMU was led by freshman guard Aaliyah Stanley’s 24 points, four rebounds and two steals.

The Eastern Michigan University men’s and women’s cross country teams competed at the NCAA Great Lakes Regional on Friday, Nov. 15 at the Thomas Zimmer Championships Cross Country Course. Both teams were able to finish in the top-10 in their respective competitions.

Eastern Michigan becomes bowl eligible with 45-17 win over Northern Illinois

EMU football players have a chance to win prestigious awards

The Eastern Michigan women’s volleyball team suffered a loss to Ball State on Friday, Nov. 15. It was a crucial loss as the Eagles were looking for a spot in the 2019 MAC Tournament. Eastern Michigan was on the road in Muncie, Indiana, the home of the Cardinals, and EMU left Worthen Arena with a 3-1 loss.

Week 13 Preview: Eastern Michigan looks to clinch bowl eligibility at Northern Illinois

EMU women's basketball loses a close one after Youngstown State comeback on the road

Jenna Annecchiarico was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 19 points and three steals. Freshman Aaliyah Stanley had a season-high 16 points and was 4-for-7 on 3-pointers.

Eagles football team offers running back Daveon Hunter

Daveon Hunter, who is a 3-star running back according to 247 Sports, was offered a scholarship from the Eastern Michigan football program on Monday, Nov. 11. The senior running back is 5’10” and 200 pounds. He attends Chandler High School in Arizona and is slated to graduate at the end of the current school year.

Rob Murphy discusses recently released book

The book “DEEP” is Murphy’s lifelong story through his eyes. Murphy discusses growing up in Detroit, getting his “dream job” at Syracuse University, learning life lessons through basketball and much more.
