Eastern Michigan becomes bowl eligible with 45-17 win over Northern Illinois

Eastern Michigan football earned a sixth win of the season against Northern Illinois on Tuesday, Nov 19, defeating the Huskies 45-17. The Eagles are now bowl eligible in consecutive seasons for the first time in program history and the third time in four years under head coach Chris Creighton.

EMU football players have a chance to win prestigious awards

Eastern Michigan football players have earned multiple MAC Player of the Week awards in 2019. And two more players have a chance to receive further recognition. Hassan Beydoun and Jake Julien were nominated for the Burlsworth Trophy and the Ray Guy Award, respectively.

EMU volleyball drops must-win match against Ball State

The Eastern Michigan women’s volleyball team suffered a loss to Ball State on Friday, Nov. 15. It was a crucial loss as the Eagles were looking for a spot in the 2019 MAC Tournament. Eastern Michigan was on the road in Muncie, Indiana, the home of the Cardinals, and EMU left Worthen Arena with a 3-1 loss.

Week 13 Preview: Eastern Michigan looks to clinch bowl eligibility at Northern Illinois

After dismantling the Akron Zips, Eastern Michigan heads to Northern Illinois to battle with the Huskies on Tuesday night, Nov. 19. The game will be broadcasted live on ESPN2, EMU’s first appearance on the station since its 2011 game against Penn State. The game will be the final road game of the season for the Eagles.

Eagles remain undefeated with road upset

The Eastern Michigan Eagles (4-0) men’s basketball team is undefeated through four games for the second time in three years after doing so at the beginning of the 2017-18 season. The Eagles upset North Texas (1-3) on Saturday, Nov. 16 at the University of North Texas Coliseum behind Ty Groce’s game-high 15 points.

EMU women's basketball loses a close one after Youngstown State comeback on the road

The Eastern Michigan (1-2) women's basketball team lost 79-77 to non-conference foe Youngstown State at the Beeghley Center on Saturday, Nov. 16. Jenna Annecchiarico was the leading scorer for the Eagles with 19 points and three steals. Freshman Aaliyah Stanley had a season-high 16 points and was 4-for-7 on 3-pointers.

Eagles football team offers running back Daveon Hunter

Daveon Hunter, who is a 3-star running back according to 247 Sports, was offered a scholarship from the Eastern Michigan football program on Monday, Nov. 11. The senior running back is 5’10” and 200 pounds. He attends Chandler High School in Arizona and is slated to graduate at the end of the current school year.

Rob Murphy discusses recently released book

The book “DEEP” is Murphy’s lifelong story through his eyes. The Eastern Michigan Eagles (2-0) men’s basketball team earned their second victory of the season as they took down the Goshen Maple Leafs (3-4), 101-49 on Tuesday, Nov. 12 at the Convocation Center. The Eagles were led by Ty Groce, who had a career-high 19 points. Chris Barnes added 16 points, five steals and one assist in the victory.

Eastern Michigan dominates Akron to win fifth game of the year

On the coldest game of the year for Eastern Michigan, the Eagles’ running game was nothing but hot. Eastern Michigan football got back in the win column after two consecutive losses, topping Akron 42-14. The Eagles are now 5-5 on the season and 2-4 in conference play.

Eagles women’s soccer team falls in MAC championship following penalty shootout

The Eastern Michigan women’s soccer team lost in the MAC Tournament championship game on Sunday, Nov. 10 versus Bowling Green at Cochrane Stadium in Bowling Green, Ohio. The Eagles came into the tournament as the No. 7 seed before pulling off two upsets over Ball State and Ohio. Eastern Michigan fell to Bowling Green in a penalty shootout.

The volleyball team splits rivalry games versus Western Michigan, Central Michigan

The Eagles bounced back from an 85-50 loss against Michigan State earlier in the week, defeating Olivet 95-38. EMU had five players score 10+ points in the blowout win.

The Eastern Michigan’s women’s basketball team started their 2019-20 season with a loss versus No. 17 Michigan State. The Eagles lost 85-50 on Tuesday, Nov. 5 at the Breslin Center in East Lansing. Corrione Cardwell led EMU with 13 points, three assists, two rebounds and two steals.
